Bike Battery Mount Adapter

This 3D-printed bike battery mount adapter solved a small issue with my partner’s electric-assist gravel bike. She wanted an additional battery for her Trek Domane to reduce “range anxiety” on longer rides. She bought a Trek Hyena range extender battery that mounts to the water bottle cage bosses on the seat tube. However, the bike’s small frame size provides very little clearance between the frame and the underside of the battery where the plug for the charging cable is located. This required detaching the battery from Trek’s mounting plate in order to insert and remove the charging cable.

I looked at a commercial cage shifter but it’s designed for water bottles and is too narrow to adequately support the heavy battery. So I made this adapter to shift the mounting holes for Trek’s mounting plate up by 15 mm. This distance was limited by the available clearance between the top of the battery and the underside of the bike’s top tube, but it was enough to solve the problem. I printed the adapter using PETG and 50% infill.
